Business loan refinance calculator
See whether switching saves money once every cost is counted.
Enter both rates to compare.
Simple interest-only comparison over the same period. Your loan documents set out actual figures.
How the comparison works
The calculator compares two paths over the same number of months. Stay: you keep paying interest on the current loan. Switch: you pay the cost of leaving the current loan, the set-up costs of the new one and interest at the new rate. Whichever total is lower is cheaper — on paper.
Cost isn't the only reason to refinance. Business owners often come to us because a lender is calling in a facility, a short-term loan is about to expire, or the current structure is choking cash flow. In those cases the question is speed and certainty, and our fast business loan refinancing page explains how we handle it.
Before you switch
- Get a written payout figure from your current lender — waiting for it is the most common delay in any refinance.
- Confirm the exit for the new loan as well. Refinancing buys time; it doesn't replace a plan.
- Compare total cost, not headline rates. Our guide to rates and fees explains what to look for.

Refinance questions
When is refinancing a business loan worth it?
When the total cost of the new loan, including exit costs on the old one and set-up costs on the new one, is lower than staying put — or when the old lender is forcing the issue and staying put isn't an option. The calculator shows the first; only you can judge the second.
What costs should I include for the current loan?
Any break or early-repayment cost, discharge fees and the remaining interest you would otherwise pay. Ask your current lender for a written payout figure.
Can you refinance a loan that's in default?
Often, yes. If there's equity in property and a clear plan, a private first or second mortgage can pay out a lender who is enforcing. Speed matters, so get in touch early.
